| Guys with panhard setup....
I am capable of making the parts my self. Did on my scx10. My real question is how much does the axle move sideways from full droop to full compression with stock length shocks? Basically I'm wondering if I want to do this to my 1.9 wraith I'm getting ready to start building or just leave it alone. I was going to use wraith shocks and scx10 axles. Just don't want a lot of sideways movement because of the panhard.

All depends on how long the panhard bar is, yeah? Yeah. |

Well assuming I'm mounting the servo with the horn on the left side of the chassis and the panhard is the same length as the drag link as it should be to decrease bump steer. Then how much movement do you get. Approx? Not looking for thousandths of an inch here. Also is it in your moderator job description to be a smartass all the time? |

Yes. It's not much really. My Hand Bros CMS has some movement, but hardly anything to care about. |

Any of them are gonna have some movement. Was just not wanting an inch. Lol. Considering doing it on a 1.9 wraith I'm getting ready to start on. Easier to do it now rather than wait till I have it RTR. Btw a little respect would be nice. Not too keen on the hand gestures. Also as a moderator on a forum I'm surprised that you act like that. You're supposed to set an example for the members here. Last edited by TwistedMetal; 01-30-2015 at 10:11 PM. |

Assuming you're using SCX10-width axles in your 1.9, axle side-to-side with a proper panhard setup should be very similar to a proper SCX10 panhard setup, which isn't much at all. I run panhards in my 2.2 Wraith, SCX10, G2 D90 and Ascender and never notice side-to-side movement when running them (other than through the absence of bump steer). Is there any particular reason you're worried about it?

The stock wraith shocks are longer than the scx10 shocks. So that right there will create more. I guess I'm just overthinking it. Looking at my wraith it looks like there would be a lot of lateral movement. But I guess if I build it right and center the axle at the middle of the shock length than it will probably be ok. A little both ways from ride height.

Agreed. You can always fine tune it by adjusting lengths and link angles, but I don't think you'll even find it an issue to begin with. Good luck!

I just read your post on mounting the servo upright. That's how I did it on my scx10. Crossways in the front of the chassis. Very good looking idea. That's probably close to how I will make mine. So do you get any interference between your panhard and the axle truss?

There's not much interference at all, I think in part because the height of the axle mounting point on the VP Panhard bracket gives pretty good clearance. I'll try to post a few pix when I get back from my weekend trip.

Just did a 3-link panhard with wraith shocks on my wroncho. I would say that any lateral movement is negligible. Make your steering links as parallel as possible and tinker with the angles if you think your having issues. |

Awesome. Yeah I'm aware of the concept and how to do it right. I did my honcho myself and it turned out great.
