| Disappointed with VP OCP Axles casing slop.
I have bought VP kit before and been very happy with the quality despite the premium cost. So when I got a little cash I thought I grab a set of casing for my truck. How can they have made these so wrong! As you can see from the pics the mount points for the hubs and lockouts are poor. Not identical and the diameter is too small. The slop is ridiculous. I have bodged the lockouts with tape and had to incur further expense by buying the clamping C-hubs to solve the issue upfront. I would not advise these be bought based on my experience. I tried different lockouts and they are all ill fit. I have some VP ones to try but they look identical to stock so I don't hold much hope. |

So you are trying to use your stock chubs on the vp tubes?

I believe their versions of this housing have been improved. I have that same design as shown. I tried adding two more 4mm holes and they still stripped out. I eventually had to epoxy the c-hubs to the AL housing. Stay tight now and no effects on servicing axles. Last edited by Szczerba; 02-06-2015 at 09:39 PM. |

The clamping C hubs are the way to go, no matter what axle housing.

| Re: Disappointed with VP OCP Axles casing slop. I have tried stock, thirds party and VP. All bad. The clamping chubs have resolve the front. For the lockouts I had to secure with tape and then force the lockout on. Poor. If I could go back I'd stick with stock. But am not in the US and the fees are high.
