| Wheel Balancing?
So I searched and looked through the first two pages of results and didn't see anything So I figured I would ask. I have a lot of vibration at higher speeds that I want to get rid of. I have been into rc flight for years and am accustomed to balancing my props to reduce vibration and stress on the motor. I was thinking about using my prop balancer to balance my wheels. Use small self tapping screws as weights and screw right through the inside of the rim. Has this ever been discussed or even done? Let me know. |

Yup. Use your prop balancer and some modeling clay as weight. The clay sticks very well with no mods to the wheels. It works great on my short course truck wheels. |

That would be a good idea and yes you could use a prop balancer if you wanted too. I have the Dynamite wheel balancer and I use it on my 1/8 scale nitro buggy and M/T classes. Spin the wheel on the balancer wait till it stops then mark it at the bottom with a marker . Spin the wheel again see where it stops. if it stops in the same place every time you spin it that is the heaviest part of the wheel. Put some epoxy putty, JB weld or putty or even pla-do on the opposite side of your mark inside the hub . Spin the wheel again and again at least 4 to 5 times. If it still ends up with the mark at the bottom add more weight. The goal is to have the wheel end up in a different spot every time you spin it. Hope this helps, good luck man. |

Thanks peeps I figured it would be a good Idea. The only thing i have is 1/4 oz lead weights. So I am cutting them and using some super strength double sided adhesive.
