| SCX-10 axles on Wraith?
Will SCX-10 axles mount right onto a Wraith or are there mods needed and how hard is it? I ask because I would like my Wraith to look a little more scale in the axle area, the stock axles really are a bit wide for the truck. Thanks all in advance for any info.

You'll have to make shorter control arms, possibly shorten the driveshafts depending on what you want your new wheelbase to be. Other than that the axles will work fine. You can look through my thread for some ideas. There are many other threads in here too. Knuckle Busters 1.9 Wraith |

Not only do I want them in a tad but I fear that for competition they stick out too far past the body, but after reading Class3 2.2 crawler rules, am I wrong or did they do away with the " The outside of the tire is not to exceed 1.25 inches past the widest part of the body" rule?

I agree, They look more scale with scx10 axles and 1.9 tires...although I do have both, here is my 1.9 which I don't think looks silly at all |

I agree KBR97, as a 1.1 rig the axles would be about 8 feet wide and the tires would be about 5 feet tall, but hey to each his own. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love my Wraith but IMO it looks more like an RC toy than a scale rig with those tires and axles. The link above to Brandon's 1.9 build is nothing short of impressive if you ask me. Also got the 2014 SORRCA copied, there is a few red letter revisions I didn't see on our links but it has not changed much. I believe the Wraith can walk right into class3 pretty much stock. http://www.sorrca.com/rules/2014rules.pdf Last edited by RockBiter; 03-26-2015 at 09:24 AM. |

Looks more like a Wraith than a SCX to me? http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/attac...3-img_0004.jpg http://sxsnews.com/wp-content/upload...H-2012-044.jpg I think the Wraith can look scale. TTC rigs are big. Last edited by o0wiz0o; 03-26-2015 at 10:47 AM. |

The second pic of the the Poison Spyder rig is 100% wraith chassis on scx axles and 1.9s. A stock wraith more resembles a rock bouncer than the ultra 4 car that it was designed after. Either way the wraith is an awesome rig. |

1:1 Ultra 4 rigs aren't always super wide, so in my opinion the 1.9 wraith makes sense. I really like my 1.9er as it does blend scale looks without hurting performance too much. What does it take to make AR60s and 2.2s look scale?....a quite large custom chassis, something the stock wraith cage is just too small to pull off. This one was built and owned by the guys at Lasernut |

I liked the way my 1.9 wraith looked but with running the scx chassis under the wraith cage made it very top heavy |

Would that be considered close to 1:8 scale? | |

I believe the Wraith can walk right into class3 pretty much stock. http://www.sorrca.com/rules/2014rules.pdf[/QUOTE] yes the wraith is only class 3, unless you bolt or attach a full frame rail to the bottom of the cage like I did but then it becomes very top heavy that's why I decided to go with a different platform but I did like my 1.9 for how it looked |

While I like both my SCX10 and AR60 axles Wraiths, Wheely King axles are right between them in width - nice alternative. Compared to SCX10 axles always nice to have options. |

1.9 wraiths are C3, with the exception of those who put wraith body's on the scx10 chassis

Here are a couple builds for hacking up Wraith axles that turned out really good, I'm a little leery about ruining something myself and having to buy more, but it looks easy enough. https://www.google.com/url?q=http://...0QhNTFb0dK6VLQ https://www.google.com/url?q=http://...PFopGB_zP2IiKQ Last edited by RockBiter; 03-26-2015 at 03:04 PM. |

Love the AR60's narrowed. I actually would've liked to have done that instead of using SCX axles, but I really don't like modifying mechanical components. |

Personally I really love the look of the Wraith with the scx axles and 1.9s. Planning on building one sooner or later. |

Looks good! Now work on getting shorter links up front to suck that axle in a bit, it will look even better.
