Got my shocks. Gmade G-Transitions. Did a modified spring setup. Left out the little spring to increase downward travel. Also put some pipe thread tape to seal them up since leaking may be an issue. We'll see how that goes. And for the flex shot Really impressed with the articulation. |

To bedside or not to bedside? That is the question... |

Bedsides. Grab some limiting straps to keep it from twisting so much, you'll be happier and have a more capable rig. (Won't flip as much side hilling, or risk breaking shafts and etc when a wheel falls into a hole while crawling. A little wheel floating can be good to cross gaps.) Ride height looks good tho. |

Got both bedsides mocked up. Need to make a few adjustments to get them to fit just right |

I vote no bedsides. I may have to get a cab for my wraith and do a similar cage mod. I really like the look of what you did.

With the cage work and the bed sides it looks aggressive, I like it! I wouldn't bother with a tail gate either. The rear of the bed ends at the perfect spot for the tube work to take over and make it more of a TTC truck. Plus the toolbox wraps the rear end up nicely. |

^ +1000000000 on that! Looks pretty rad with the bedsides and exposed tubing in the rear.

Kookie31, would you mind giving a little detail about how you did your cage mod? iI haven't seen one done like this before and it's by far the nicest I have seen.

Ok I'm going to make this as uncomplicated as possible but since I didn't take pics as I was doing this I'm going to have to rely on stock photos and horrible editing, so bear with me. Here's how I modded my cage: Start off by removing the top section. There are six screws holding it in. Then cut off all rear supports and the top of the b-pilars (red sections) I then lined up the rear of my cab and heated this point (red arrows roughly) with a lighter. Try not to burn it. Just heat until it bends. I did this by constantly moving the flame around the area until it started to flex. From here I bent the top rails down to the midsection at an angle I wanted it. I then marked the ends of the top I just bent where it meets the midsection and cut it there. I also marked where the b-pilars now intersects the top section and cut the b-pilars to match. *for a better fit and finish, I used my dremel with the small round sander to notch the ends that mated up to other tubing of the chassis. To hold in place I drilled (not sure the size of the bit but it's slightly smaller than the screws removed from the top section) and then using the extra screws from the top section, screwed everything together Now to the top I cut off the rear section and cut the mid crossbar off. Once again I lined up the mid crossbar with rear off the cab, notched the ends, drilled and screwed together, attaching the top section of the cage. I then reattached the front section in the stock location and marked where the three braces met the mid crossbar, cut, notched, drilled and attached with screws (I had extra. You're going to need 11 total including the stock ones) *the red section is roughly where I cut Once everything was together and I was happy with it, I sanded everything smooth as I could including rounding off the rear where I cut out the supports and painted everything satin black. Hope this helps. Any questions, feel free to ask Last edited by kookie31; 05-16-2015 at 12:06 PM. |
