My buddy ‘stole’ my 6 bucket light bar last week to go on an hike. He put the bar on a NiMh 7.2V and a 500mA driver (@ +/- 165mA per LED).

He was asked several time whether he was afraid in the dark or if he could ‘enlighten’ a repair on another rig.

In short: To much. (when you’re riding with others and not competing). Unnecessary drain of battery power.

So for my own rig I opted for 4 lights upfront (@ +/- 100mA) and 4 at the bottom (@ +/- 50mA).

Quick run in the garden proofed this is enough to navigate in the dark. Will be tested on real rocks soon.

ANyway, here's 3 crapy vids I could salvage:
first 2 are a sprint, the other is killing the slipper

Even this is with the plastic gears. since then I've upgraded to steal gears en rebuilt the slipper.

And 2 going slow:

Edit: Pff. Seeing them here.... they're hardly worth watching.
I'll see If I can shoot some vids the coming weekend.
Looks like image tags were used on those video posts, but I was able to play with the URL's to get the videos to play, on separate browser tabs. That motor does seem pretty powerful, and is just what I'm looking for, as I intend my Wraith to do mostly hill climbing, with light crawling. I might cancel on the 3650KV and go for the 3200KV, seeing how much top end speed it yielded. Man, you're right. The sound of that spur gear getting shredded sounded awful. HaHa!!

Not the spur, just the slipper clutch kicking in. Still running the standard 48p plastic spur.
