Default More "racer" than "rock"

As the title insinuates, I'm trying to build my wraith as more "short course and bajaish" type truck. I want to run more sand and dirt (with jumps) rather then mostly trail and rocks.

My wraith is a work in project for sure, the biggest issue I'm coming across is my suspension travel. Not articulation, it's fine for what I do, but mostly suspension up travel. Right now I get about 1.5" of up travel before I'm bottoming out..I'd like another 1/2"-1". I do realize longer shocks will net more shock travel and it's in the books for sure but, I am also bottoming out on my rear axle and servo. I'd rather not raise it much more (really want it a little lower) but how have you "racer" types solved the issue of up travel? just hack the front and back of cage? hope there is a better solution ya'll have thought of thanks for any help!
