Default Mip's seem a little short?

I'm building a wraith...
Have installed full bombproof VP scx10 transmission...
Have 6mm SS outputs...
Have extended yoke on axle ends...

The MIP's seem a little short almost 1/2" of spline visible with suspension extended... and still about 1/4" of spline visible when compressed...

Front and rear are exactly the same.

Am I on the right track? or have got something wrong?

photo with suspension extended......

That's how they normally sit I thought the same thing when I got them. But after a year of hammering on them and they have held up fine.

The Wraith trans is wider "output to output" than a SCX10 trans. SS Exclusive's might help. "Exclusive" MIP X-Duty CVD™ Bone - Super Shafty

They say that a 1/4" is enough, I usually want less than half the splines showing.

Your driveshaft angle isn't all that great if you put a jato rod end on one end of the upper links it will fix the angle and will also pull more of the male shaft into the female shaft.

The female end is only broached about 1/2" deep. It might look bad but in fact the most engagement you will get is about 1/2" of spline no matter where it rides.

I will post a pick with the shaft broached all the way my rig has the entire spline inside the female side. I have a super shafty exclusive on the front and its designed to ride all the way inside and I have been building my own custom yeti setup for the rear before the yeti was even released. Maybe that was the old style but the new stuff the female shaft is hollow and broached the hole way.
