Default Battery tray winch mount!! Axial spawn

So I got my rc4wd warn winch in yesterday with wireless reciever and I already have my lipo up front and didn't want to add any more weight so I got creative.

I ran it from the front of the battery tray and ran the winch line under the interior up and inbetween the two lower crossbars under the windshield then down over the reciever out front.. pulls pretty good for the positioning and it's hidden real nice. Still need to make a front fairlead. I used a paperclip for now so I could test it out... excuse my ghetto-Ness lol

Good idea. Just wonder about the wear and tear on the line and all the things it comes in contact with

thats lot of battery... a winch weighs basically nothing, if you want to keep both those lipos i would move the smaller one to the rear.

i wouldnt in a million years run a winch line over a lipo like that. granted it might never be an issue with a hardcased lipo, but why tempt fate? if you really like that setup id advise getting some brakeline and bending a conduit to route the line up to the front and keep it from trying to cut through everything.

the winch on my comp wraith is secured with just 2 zipties to the front bumper, and all i did was drill a couple holes in the mounting plate for the zipties and notched the corners of the plate so it would fit behind the bumper. easy cheese.

Both are good ideas! I'll tinker around and see what I come up with.. I was a little worried about running the line under the interior.

As far as the lipo is concerned the line runs over the cross bar behind it and that takes all the rubbing. Illness the battery gets bumped up or something.. I didn't even think about moving the smaller lipo to the back I think I'll do that tonight

a brakeline conduit will also drastically reduce the chance of the winchline getting snagged or getting knotted up.

I use simple plastic tubing. Found in most hardware stores, lowes, hd, etc.
Washer fluid line works well, is black. I use that for my homemade links too.
Much cheaper than brake line, as it's $.30 a foot

How flexible is the tubing you get?
