Droop kit recommendation I'm looking for a droop kit that doesn't require holes to be cut into the hood. I tried searching but couldn't find anything recent and the old recommendations are no longer available. |
Re: Droop kit recommendation 1 Attachment(s) Use ckrc's that's what I did. That's in,y because my Wraith hood is hand, add aluminum with a huge cowl so I didn't want to have two ugly cuts on it. |
Re: Droop kit recommendation I do not see a droop kit on ckrc website. Am I missing it? |
Re: Droop kit recommendation I got the level 3 one in my PS wraith. I didn't have to cut. |
Re: Droop kit recommendation BPC chassis. |

"Requires cutting of the hood above the shock towers to clear the shocks." |

Re: Droop kit recommendation I also have the ckrc kit, came with the truck when I bought it from my brother, and I did not cut the hood. However it's a very tight fit, and I'm starting to see some wear on the paint where the droop kit rests against the hood. But it works |
Re: Droop kit recommendation I'm a big fan of shorter shocks instead of a droop. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06...a84718b0a8.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06...dae221e748.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06...27a6bb9886.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Droop kit recommendation A suspension lowering kit does not increase droop. It's actually designed/engineered to reduce droop (extension). So don't waste money on it unless ya know why ya need it. Realize it is simply a tool for compensating... if the utilized shocks are too long and are causing drive line bind. (excessive droop) Max droop is predetermined by the factory drive shaft angle(s) (universal joints). The over-all shock length/extension/mounting position controls how much droop is allowed. There is a predetermined aft. mrkt. shock length that will fit the Wraith without causing excessive droop (bind) to the drive shaft's universal joint. tho' I'm not familiar as to what that length is ? ...'cause I don't own one. Maybe it's 100mm like on the SCX-10 ? eh... someone else may know and say !? Appropriate shock stroke travel should be set up for a 60/40 travel perimeter. ^ that means 60% up travel (compression) and 40% down travel (droop/extension). In the split of 60/40 should be your established static ride height. I roll 50/50 on my rig. Using the susp. lowering brackets could help in correcting drive line issues primarily for a shock that is too long and allows the axle to droop below the factory limitation. A shock can be limited for either compression and/or extension... by simply installing shims on the shaft, externally (compression) or internally (extension). Limiting straps on an rc crawler are generally useless and simply for show. |
Re: Droop kit recommendation I want to lower my wraith to get a lower cog and make it a better crawler. I said droop because that's what these kits are called, droop kits. |
Re: Droop kit recommendation I'm really happy with the GearHead kit Lowered COG quite a bit http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/...74FE67439E.jpg http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/...D021DDBF0D.jpg |
Re: Droop kit recommendation I just realized you didn't want to cut the hood, sorry. I had to for these http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/...E50DFDC8C7.jpg |

You can also flip the shock/link mounts on the axles over and get some more drop. Whoever named them "droop" kits got it wrong. Drop, yes. Droop, no. |
Re: Droop kit recommendation I have the lower link mounts flipped already. I thought about flipping the rear upper mount but isn't it better to keep the front and rear level? |
