| Is this the correct way to Wire CC BEC?
I have a HobbyWing 1060 ESC. Here the way I have it wired. After hooking it up, I have no steering, servo doesnt move or make a noise, tried other servos, same thing. Throttle works, makes the normal beeping sound, hooked up another receiver and steering was working, is my receiver shot you think? |

no, for steering, servo gets plugged into the BEC with a Y harness, with the power cut from the rx to servo & relying off the power from the BEC Like this, from the Castle siteCC BEC Wiring Diagram Actually, that link is wrong. Someone will put up a diagram. This is what you need Holmes Hobbies LLC Last edited by THX_138; 11-16-2015 at 10:10 PM. Reason: Merge, posting a minute apart |

Wont it work this way if I dont have the y harness? I already pulled out the red wire. Cause that link you posted before is the way I have it wired, just without the direct power to steering. Last edited by raider89; 06-10-2015 at 12:01 AM. |

On your drawing you only have 2 wires going to the servo. Is that just a drawing mistake? The signal wire has to be connected to the receiver. Other than that it looks correct.

You can do it either way. I have had mine set up both ways, worked fine. Currently running it the way you drew up originally, with the BEC powering the RX and everything else normal. Both ways work. |

Depending on the rig I wire it both ways. On rigs where I have have weight concerns, or for simplicity I do not use the Y harness. I plug the bec into the RX, and pull the red wire from the ESC. Works fine and the servo get's it's voltage. Just puts more volts through the RX, so if going above 6v make sure your RX has the headroom. Most of my RX's can handle 9v, so I usually do the way you showed with bec at 7.4. On rigs with multiple servo's I run the BEC's direct to the servos. | |

The harness linked isn't just a y harness. A regular y harness will not do the same thing.

Sorry, not trying to hijack, but I have mine setup the castle way (raider's original way). Am I getting 7.4v to the servo, or only 6v? Or do I need to do it direct to servo?

So I should not use the Y adapter, and should still unplug the red wire lol? here's what I did to the y adapter. Basically took the y adapter and made it look like the rx bypass, made the 2 reds link together, unplugged the power at the rx end, i took the white wire out of the one side also. So it only has black and red. Youre only getting 5.1 volts. You have to get a castle link and hook it to the computer and chamge voltage settings. Last edited by THX_138; 11-16-2015 at 10:12 PM. |
