Default Wraith spawn kit electronics?

What electronics should I get for the wraith kit? I would like the price to be under $600 and I would like it all to be available at tower hobbies so I can use a coupon. How is the hitec waterproof servo I think its the 5646 or something like that. Would it work in a wraith? Thanks

Well if you ever think you may want a brushless setup invest in a Mamba Max Pro.

Motor wise Holmes Hobbies Crawl master sport.

Sensored brushless motors would be the Tekin ROC412 3100kV or Pro4 3300kV. I went with the Novak Crusher ESC for the Wraith and already had a Pro4 4000kV. All of which, as well the Mamba Max Pro are available through Tower and qualify for their Easy Pay option if that helps any. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to run the Wraith on the Novak/Pro4 system yet.

Novak also has some crawler Crusher and 540 motor combos through Tower.

The 5646 will work on the wraith but I would go to a better one after stripping servo gears 2-3 times.

You really need a servo with at least 300oz-in of torque and preferably titanium gears in order for it to survive in a Wraith. I use a Hitec 7950TG. Anything less and I have been disappointed in the past. It's expensive but its served me well for years and has taken a lot of abuse. The Holmes servo is great on paper but they have had their share of issues with getting them reliable. Service is outstanding when you do have a problem though.

Sensored brushless is the way to go in the wraith. I tried nice brushed setups for several years and it was fun but the motors wear out and yeah they can be rebuilt, but they just don't have the torque or the durability of a brushless motor. Run time has also improved greatly for me since going brushless.

You can go from mild to wild on motors. I just run a Novak 21.5T ballistic crawler motor in mine. Slower than it was with my 27T hand wound brushed motor, but it's smooth as hell and I get almost 4 hours out of a 4300mah 3s and the motor never even gets warm.

Any decent motor should serve you well, don't have to spend $140 on a Tekin. the Novaks are about $90 or so, Holmes Hobbies has several options ranging from like $50 to over $100 and are pretty awesome.
