Default Putting shocks together today, other options for green slime?

I was told its a must to pick up some green slime for the o rings and when putting my shocks together, my LHS doesn't carry it. Any other item that does the same thing I can pick up locally at auto store or something.

I used Vaseline on one shock build, when I was out of green slime.

There is no alternative to Green Slime when it comes to prolonging the life of the seals, just use a drop of shock oil on the o-rings to help protect them during installation. Dry o-rings can rip and tear during assembly, the shock oil helps prevent that.

After doing some more research I heard Noleen SF3 GREASE is the same thing as green slime, any info in regards to that? If I cant get any shock oil is going to be the replacement for now.

The SF3 looks like it may be the similar, you may also be able to use Slick Honey, Prep-M or Judy Butter if you can't locate SF3. I've never used any of them, but from reading they seem to serve the same or similar purpose (protecting & sealing o-rings and seals).
