| motor noise after lowering gearing
I have a tekin redline gen2 10.5t motor with a castle MMP i have castle field link so i know my settings r ok. I had it geared 17/80 amd had no problems. I went out tpday from some trailing with my buddy and the gearing is now 17/87. As we were crawling it was doing awesome way better than last time. However every now and then if i had stopped and pressed the throttle it made a chirping kind of noise and would make a small forward motion but wouldnt go forward. If i pressed the throttle again it would go fine like everything is ok. Why lowering my gearing cause problems. Mesh is good slipper is good. Battery by the time were were done was at 7.5v and the motor never got above 110*f |

Nope nobody... Lowering the gearing doesn't cause a chirping problem. If you think it does, then put back on the other spur gear and you'll know. Or check your sensor wire connections. |

The sensor wires and motor wires are all good ive only ram 5-6 packs through it so far and only after changing the gear ive had this problem. I did check the wires though and the connections do all sseem fine. I dont get why making it easier for the motor to spin would cause noise.. |

Connections that seem fine means nothing.

Reading this I thought; Binding, or at least a bigger start-up-resistance. To fit the larger spur you re-positioned the motor. did you check the gear mesh? If its to tight that would cause extra resistance.
