Default 4ws ideas for receiver/transmitter

Hey guys,

I've got a wraith with 4ws but the receiver/transmitter I have only allows me to run full 4ws or crab crawl. I can't run just regular steer and it's frustrating me lately. I recently picked up a stock kyosho blizzard for cheap and had a crazy idea. I want to pull the receiver out of the blizzard and put it in my wraith. From my understanding the blizzards transmitter has 4 separate channels, each thumb stick has control over 2 channels. 1 channel for up and down, and another for side to side. My idea is to run forward/reverse on the right thumb stick and steering for the front servo on the same thumb stick side to side. Then for the left thumb stick have it control my rear servo. If anyone has tried this or something similar please let me know how it went. Also pros and cons of doing this would be greatly appreciated. I tried Google and couldn't find much of anything. Thanks in advance.

You could use a heyok performance 4ws Controller which might work or buy a new radio that has a 4ws function programmed in like a Futaba or Hacked Flyskywhich is what I use.

Do you have a Radio with a 2 position 3rd channel?
If you do, you'll need this one from HeyOk
4 Wheel Steering Controller - controlled by a two position third channel

I use a MT4 radio and use the lever for independent rear steer control and the 4th channel for dig control.

I bought the spektrum DX4C. Was told it would run 4ws... it does. But I can never have just front wheel steer. Which is frustrating at times. 4ws can do more harm than good sometimes... I got bored after my night shift and tossed the blizzard receiver in my wraith. It works. Kinda neat having full control over both servos when ever I feel. But having it on 2 toggles vs a pistol grip really messes with your head. Lol. Thanks for the input, looks like I may have to bite the bullet and just buy a new transmitter....although that 4ws controller looks very appealing. i would post up a pic of my wraith but not sure how on my phone without the app.

Just create an imgur account and download that app on your phone. That's what I use and have found to work the best.

The Futaba 4PLS has 4WD steering modes you can cycle through by pressing the button on the grip. 4WS reverse phase, 4WS same phase, front-only, & rear-only. I believe some of the other Futaba's do this as well, but I only own the 4PLS and cannot comment on the others.
