Default 2 speed wraith motor options

I just got my rc4wd ax2 2 speed transmission in my Wraith, love it. I have the stock 20t motor and am fairly happy with it but I know it isn't going to last forever. For trailing and some rocks what brushed holmes motor is going to be best for me?

+1 Love my Holmes motors. Does the 2 speed add low end or top end? Like which speed is closer to stock?

It does both, stock is like a 3:1 where low is about 5.5:1 and high is 1.07:1 or something like that.

Hmm, it depends then whether you want monster low end with super crawl mode and decent top end, or if you want good wheel speed with decent crawling. If it were me I'd try to stay with decent top end and have a super low crawl mode for a brushed motor setup. Brushless would have me looking for something that's in the middle. That's just me though. Where would you like to add performance? Where do you spend most of your time?

I'm thinking lower crawl and decent speed, most of my time is on trails but I do get into rocks and some nice hillclimbs.

I'd recommend the Crawlmaster 13t in that case. With that 2 speed trans that will be a very versatile motor and have awesome low speed torque and control. I had that motor with the stock wraith trans and now in my SCX10 and it's a very nice motor. It's only a bit slower than the stock 20t motor but much better startup and torque.

I like the 1st gear on the AX2.... One lug at a time crawl ratio. 35t on 2s with 60/12. Served me well so far for the past 6 months
