Default VXL-3S ESC in Wraith

I am desperate for some help, suggestions, pics, anything!

I am trying to mount my Traxxas VXL-3S in my Wraith and just have no idea where I could mount it! The ESC is really big and it just doesn't fit anywhere.

So stuck with how to piece everything together and would appreciate any help, especially from anyone running a VXL-3S velineon combo in a Wraith.

Cheers

Put it somewhere where you can get it out again easily when you decide it's a horrible combination for a wraith, which will probably be before the 3rd battery pack.
Can't be much bigger than an mmp & I had mine between the front shock mounts where the stock rx box was (lost that & just dbl taped rx under the interior)

MMP dimensions:

L: 46.85mm
W: 37.2mm
H: 31.96mm

VXL dimensions:

55mmD
39mmW
33mmH

While the width and height are similar, the VXL is almost a centimeter longer.

Why do you think it's a bad combo?

The VXL offers nothing in terms of tuning options, generally runs hot, and performs terribly if you try to run it with a sensored motor. Not to mention better combos can be had for less money.

On the other hand, its blue. Blue is a fun color so its got that going for it.

Unsensored
no drag brake
no software based tuning
Going on the dims above, at least 3/8" bigger than the esc that does everything I want.

It's only + is it's WP (not that that bothers me, water & electricity aren't my thing)
But you can buy a Holmes esc already WP with ALL of the features above.

I didn't ask whether the combo was a good combo or suitable etc. Nor do I have a choice about what combo I use - I sold my slash and kept the motor & ESC and I recently bought a wraith roller - now I am just wanting to put them together.

Was hoping to find someone who has used this combo in a wraith, someone with some helpful ideas about where I could put it. Seems like it is going to be a tough one. Will have a look at your idea SynisteR6 but I'm not sure it will fit and not sure if I'd be able turn it on and off easily.

I would have sold the vxl system and bought a mmp with a Holmes brushless trailmaster motor...sensored... But since you didn't..i ran a similar setup when I built a basher wraith and put it in place of the passenger seat...easy to turn on...only difference was it was a vxl with a castle 3800kv motor...

How did you mount it there? Just taped to the plastic interior??

I've got my Novak Crusher servo taped to the passenger floor for now (Wraith is still a "work in progress"), it was small enough to fit in front of the seat. If it were any bigger the seat would need to be removed and the ESC put in its place. Not sure how the size of Crusher size compares to the Traxxas ESC, you may have to remove the seat.

Thanks mate - I have just done something similar. I don't have any seats in my wraith anyway - I didn't get any when I bought it as a roller. I found a video by rcnightmare I think it was - you know the guy with the Justin Bieber hair that does RC reviews on YouTube - pretty sure it's RC nightmare- anyway he mounted the vxl to the inside of the front passenger kick panel - similar place to where you have it but attached to the side wall instead of to the floor. Have just screwed and cable tied mine to there and will see how it goes this weekend. Gonna have to find seats and a driver that fit now.
