Locked ups are great and Fr8cture hit it right on the money, its all about what you prefer and what your budget can get you.

Yep, personal preference my man. I use many, LU, VP, HR, Grip Fab (HD SS are my favs), new offerings from Holmes & SuperShafty. You really can't make a bad choice IMO. I never had any of the first 4 fail me yet (as he knocks on wood). |

I don't have any experience with the gripfabs, HP's or locked up but I did just install the Holmes Hobby spools and they are nice with no slop

I run the HR spools in all my rigs and have not had one fail. They are cheap, rugged and easy to find. That being said, I would like to try some of the press fit options from our awesome vendors. |

Running HR lockers in an all steel (heavy bugger) Pro4 Wraith.. they've got a lot of slop in them. Pretty sure they're getting close to stripping out. I'm not exactally easy on parts.. That being said, they do take a beating.

I have the locked up spools and the slipper eliminater. Very tight. After I got them Holmes hobbies came out with two versions. Vanquish has nice ones too.

I vow to never run the vanquish locker again, or any set screw type locker for that matter. The vanquish locker even with thread locker, they back out EVERY time I run them. I tried the gcm "last locker" with the same problem with the set screws backing out, and had hell getting them to run smooth. They always had a bit of offset to them. I run the holmes hobbies in my wraith, and they are a little sloppy for my liking. I just put a Locked up F1 in the rear of my yeti, and so far so good. They still have some slop, but alot tighter than the holmes hobbies. Locked up F1! Last edited by Poprivet; 08-05-2015 at 09:54 AM. |

I run Vanquish 2 piece lockers in my front and rear and use the lock screws in the rear only. Red lock tite keeps them from coming loose with brushless and 3s.
