Motor Heatsinks.
 

What have you fitted and ot Made fit ? I'm Not having over heating probs but would like to keep it as cool as possible.

I know this would fit no prob.

I had the second style on my first brushless motor, the wires all went out the back of the can. With the holmes brushless the wires are on the side, there isn't enough room. I don't see any way the first style would fit, the motor is pretty tight between the trans and the side bars.

The thin wrap goes in under from the frame rails and the fins point up..
I think I'm gonna try the 2nd one..

Or would it be best to mount a fan right on the motor (Holmes Hobbies brushed) and suck or push air directly through the open slots in the sides of the motors can ? Seal it off so the air only goes in or out of the can ?

What Maslin said, I use them in all my scx10 rigs but the wraith...No can do! Not enough clearance between the interior floor pan and side rails. Now if you remove the interior, well that's a different story.

If you're not overheating the why bother? Even if you were you would be better off adjusting the gearing rather than a bandaid fix like this.

On a brushed motor? Are you running your motor maxed out as far as gearing or battery choice? I run a sv3 with a Holmes 27t in my wraith with 87/16 and never have heat problems, even when the ambient is ridiculous.

No interior.
HH TQMASTER esc and 27t motor.

Most of the time it's barely warm. But other times when I'm working it hard and or fast she get up to working temps (120* 140*) and sometimes gets down right hot but only for a short time and very seldom.

No need for one really. But it does get a bit hot at times so why not ? The esc and bec will soon be in a rear Dabox with lid and I will run a fan on that.

56/11 trans and 43/13 axles on 3s. Now admittedly I was over timed on my motor. Screws a bit to loose and it had slipped over and was on the last notch. Now she's reset at about 5*

You be better off just wiring a small fan in to blow cool moving air over the motor. That would dissipate more heat than the dodgy fins. They will only work well if they get air flow across to shift the heat. As Wraith tends not to be moving very fast when working hardest (stationary bouncing on rocks) then the fins wont do much. :)
