You can use the stock motor, but I would put in a 10t pinion to make the motor last longer..should be able to run 3s right out of the box...make sure the jumpers on the ESC are set for lipo and whatever drag brake setting you wish to start out with...

I recently burned up the factory 20t motor, and picked up a Holmes hobbies 27t crawlmaster sport motor and swapped the pinion gear to a Robison racing 32p 10 tooth.
Also grabbed a 9 tooth, but haven't installed it yet.
Running the stock 56 tooth spur gear. Only other hearing I've modified is the transmission, swapped to all metal Robison racing gears after stripping the plastic idler.
Runs with a bit more control for crawling, still can take it on trails, but definitely have reduced the top speed by 1/3 to 1/2. I'm okay with that though, decent compromise for the gain in control and torque.
Btw, running 2s Lipo 5200mah.

Did you means the stock 20T motor allan?or the 27T motor?if i use 89/14 48pitch can make the stock motor last longer without getting hot?i wanted to do some jungle trailing and crawling with my wraith..i have brushless system to.but with 9T..not suitable for low speed trailing/crawling..

32p/48p has nothing to do with it. It's a ratio, 4:1, 5:1, etc. Gearing down (higher numerically) is easier on your motor. Stick with 32p, 56/10 should be fine.

yup, 20t is usually stock for a wraith and 27t is usually stock for an scx10, either one is fine at a 56/10 ratio..

Stock motor is the 20T, my upgrade was the HH TorqueMaster 27T and not the CrawlMaster Sport 540.
I would not change to a 48p, and would preferably keep it at the 32p gearing. My stock motor lasted 2.5 months of regular use, it finally let the smoke out a couple weeks ago. (it still functioned, but everything I read said to replace).
The 56/10 works well for my purposes for general trail and crawling duties.
Just upgraded to the 2.2 PB RB2 this weekend so we will see how that changes things.

Havent researched much on the brushless side of the motors yet, so I defer to the community for those answers.
