Default broken trail ready 2.2 wheels? :S

Hey gang. So I bought a pair of new take off poison spider wheels/tires. First trip out I think a wheel got hung up on something and it tore the inside of the hub out where the pin locks in. Is this common?

Yes very common. I replaced all my hubs with vanquish SLW hubs. Much stronger and more interchangeable with any 12mm hex.

That's why they were new take offs.

Spend $$ fixing the hubs and they still won't hold a bead. So you glue the bead, then the SLW bolts pull through ruining the wheel completely.

Or just write them off as a loss and move on.

has anyone tried these:

That's the kit axial released to fix the issue in the yeti. That will work perfectly.

I just purchased a set of those for my Wraith/Nylint build.
and mistakenly ordered a 2nd set

What makes them better...
is that the hex is an alloy clamping hex...
and so is less likely to strip at the pin.

too bad yer in Canada...
or I'd offer to sell ya my spare hex conversion kit cheap.
unfortunately shipping cost would likely kill the deal.

I've read that these can fail as well...
but I'll guess that's with a "hammer down" approach to things,
or probably 6s powa'

I did have a little difficulty aligning the hubs in my TR wheel(s) center hole...
but it's likely because I was using a used set of TR wheels
that someone prior had fubar'd a little !?

Never the less... got them fitted
so they're good to go.

Unfortunately... because I'm in progress with my build...
I haven't had the chance to roll them yet.
But they look durable enough to handle a 3s

Guess anything could break... when abused.

Just ordered these, I will let everyone know how the work. They are cheaper than the Vanquish stuff. I don't run big power yet and all I do is crawl.

Toss them in the trash and use the 8 hole axial beadlock or SSD beadlocks. Those wheels are a joke. Btw thats a set screw hex. VP makes a real clamping hex.

It's a cheap fix for now, we will see how they work out.

I really like my Trailreadys, hold the bead on R35 ripsaws with no problem and the VP adapters work great. I dislike the pin mounts they come with but I'm surprised I didn't spin one.
