Cool New to RC and my first post - crawling on NEW land!

I bought my first RC, an Axial Wraith kit, back in April 2015. Since then it's been non-stop learning, upgrades and a ton of fun! Many thanks to all the awesome RCC members for the great Wraith guides and builds.

After some new paint and another new set of axle housings, my Wraith was looking good and ready for it's RCC debut. Here we are crawling on the lava flow that threatened the town of Pahoa on the Big Island of Hawaii back in late 2014. The lava breakouts have since moved back up-slope leaving us this otherworldly landscape that makes for some wild crawling.

That looks like some awesome terrain for crawling, man! Bet it offers up some hellacious grip!

Nice lookin' Wraith, too. Color is perfect!

Thanks Sh0rtBus! The traction on the hardened lava is insane but it shreds almost anything that comes into contact with it. I don't normally crawl on new lava but even the old flows are brutal. My stock front axle housing lasted just over a month before it had a hole through the pumpkin. I added some aluminum skids and those lasted for all of two weeks. The DMG steel skids I have on there now are holding up pretty well.
