| I need your opinion about this fastcage mod or the normal mod
Im going to make the fasback cage mod on my wraith, during the process of cutting the cage, I came across this possibility as shown in the video only I forgot to mention it would have at the top a support base on which it can be locked or unlocked so its possible to have access to the interior. same if It would be for the rear. Sorry for the bad video, it was taken by my mobil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8IS...ature=youtu.be what kind of mod that you guys like best including this one from a member of the forum |

I'm a fan of the regular fastback mod. Anyone know what bed/inner fender setup that is in the last pic? | |

That looks like the DinkyRC bed tub. Here's my version. I used some .032 sheet aluminum for a more open-air feel. The supports are just sleeved allthread and revo ends. |

Of the 2 options in your vid I'd think the 2nd is better as the weight of spare wheel is lower, will have less of an adverse effect on it's handling. Me personally I don't like the mod that cuts the rear off & replaces it with a stock link. I understand it's easy & when it's not my truck what I like is largely irrelevant but for mine I can't live with the tube chassis with a random piece of truss in for the rear brace. I also couldn't stand for mine the roof bar just cut off & re-starting again as the tube link brace. For mine I cut out the rear pillars & the corner gussets at the B pillar, then bent the roof part down to form the rear braces. Once it's bent down I screwed it to the part that mounts the rear shocks. It's a bit more work & works best with a heat gun to warm up & soften slightly the roof part so it doesn't break, I then used zip ties to gradually pull on the rear as I heated it. |

I love using my heatgun... everything from shrink tubing, plastic bending and more. Good job. Bringing the pain since 1968 |

Here's my version. The spare can also pivot to inside the bed. |

Actually, Altd896's was the truck that gave me the idea in the first place. I dont like the fact that you can see the rod ends and hacked cage ends on mine either. I may end up doing an extended roof skin that bends down in the back to make it look a little cleaner...

Ran mine down to the shock mount as well. 1.9 rock beast stretched on a 2.2 fits perfect. |

I ended up with a 25' roll of brake line so in a effort to use some of it a few inches ended up on the back of my Wraith. I thought the silver blended in good with the diamond plate.

Here is somethung I cooked up tonight. I've seen one other do something along the same lines. However, I incorporated the Exo rear shock mounts and linked them together. Bringing the pain since 1968 |
