Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. 1 Attachment(s) So I bought the vanquish metal steering linkage setup and I'm having issues with it. If I tighten the ends up properly the toe is way off. So I have to leave it like this in the pic. What am I doing wrong LOL http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10...d3574a2c42.jpg |
Re: Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. simple fill the gap(s) with alloy spacers ( avail on ebay 1, 2, 3 mm ) or just simply install some appropriately sized washers... tho' I'd use SS to defend against corrosion/rust. there could be several reasons for the gap. could be the ball ends are not the necessary length and could be slightly longer. because it's Vanquish... much of their stuff is designed to work with their other products and has a specific intention in design/fitment. I personally would not worry about it... and would fill the gaps using spacers or washers. I use that method for nearly all of my steering set ups. as it allows me to adjust the toe as I like. just be grateful they are not too long... that would be more of a problem. good luck in whatever you choose to do. |
Re: Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. That's not VP. They use Ti for their links. They also thread the links and don't use set screws. And VP isn't bent like that. Maybe that's and older version but here is what my VP links look like.http://i.ytimg.com/vi/qsMNuzVNuN4/maxresdefault.jpg http://images.tapatalk.com/20130116/zutara7u.jpg |
Re: Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. I duuno what you bought, but it's not Vanquish. I would suggest your perhaps not using either the rod end or the knuckle that manufacturer intended. |
Re: Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. Those look like strc. I wear mine like this. Washers or spacers are needed. http://mini-zracer.com/mini-zgallery...MG_0344_1_.JPGhttp://mini-zracer.com/mini-zgallery...MG_0343_1_.JPG |
Re: Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. Thanks a lot guys, I was comparing my steering setup to yours and I believe I do not have a vanquish steering setup. But I'm going to find some spacers and leave it alone for now, I think when it's tight after I install spacers it should function just fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. move your links to the tops of the knuckles instead of underneath. problem solved. also the link from servo to knuckle is backwards. bend towards the knuckle. edit: i found even with the stock plastic draglink, it has to go on top of the knuckle or it created toe in. |
Re: Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. HA so I made a low steer kit LOL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. I had to modify my SSD links but I actually had to cut my links down to prevent a toe out situation. Seems like they all need to be modified to some degree. |
Re: Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. Well I got it from a hobby shop that is about 50 miles away from my home so I don't frequent the hobby shop truthfully I would be better off to just buy the VP said from my local hobby shop and right off the 20 bucks it cost me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. For $20 it's not vp. I'd just run it, still better than stock plastic. Mount to top of knuckles and see if toe is fixed and done. |
Re: Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. It doesn't look like a bad setup. Just didn't know if someone tried to pass it off to you as VP. It's aluminum so if you do bend it it will bend back easy. |
Re: Wraith/ vanquish steering setup. I'll check that out next time I get a few minutes to work on it, also trying to figure out why the passenger rear wheel nut keeps working lose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
