| Newb question about wheels
I got the posion spyder wraith and I put the wider hubs* (?) on it that came in the spare parts bag and like how that sits. I want new wheels... either the axial 8 lug with different rings or some vanquish wheels. I assume I need 12mm hexes for either? I know you have to run the SLW with the vanquish, right? and those mount up to the hexes? And if I decide to go with the axial wheels all I do is get wider hexes to get the wider stance that I like? |

Vanquish uses slw hubs. So do several other brands. You will need 12mm hexes. Yes, you buy whatever hub you want to give the track width you want. |

You won't get a wider hex to suit the Axial wheels that makes it as wide as the slw hubs. If you did there'd be no stub axle left to put the wheel nut on anyway. If you want wide you'll need an slw wheel, VP, TSS, Locked Up RC, Gearhead, SSD, DCW & a few other's do them. Last edited by altd896; 10-18-2015 at 09:28 AM. |

I'd suggest going with an SLW compatible wheel because your also getting a much stronger hub. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Axial 8 holes have a non removable/replaceable plastic hex molded into the wheel same as the rocksters. Not the strongest design. Like mentioned above, there's just much more adjustment and setup options available as well. Also, be aware of the wheel widths themselves. Your stock axial wheels are around an inch and a half wide whereas most vanquish wheels are less than an inch wide.
