Usually Easy Off is 10 mins and done so I'm lost at what kind of hell infused anodizing they used. I'll probably sand on them tonight or tomorrow.

I did some styrene work tonight on my truck and my buddy's truck that is also using the metal cage and made some battery boxes out of some .030. Luckily my girlfriend has gotten into sewing and had a roto-knife and a cutting mat with a straight edge. That made this much easier.

Ryan's tuber.

My tuber

I'm not real happy with the squareness of the front corners of the boxes so I'll probably end up modding mine to be angled to give it a better look once I finalize what battery I'll be running.

I'm gonna try this or the Castrol Super Clean next. The rings will need sanded regardless because they're pretty rough under that anodizing.

I also got some 2x8mm hardware for the rings and it sucks. The Allen hex inside is a weird size so I'm pretty disappointed in that. It was only $4 for 100 screws so it's no big loss.

I got my little mini TIG set up and running today. It's safe to say that my first time TIGing wasn't a walk in the park but I could see the difference between the first and last weld. I only got a couple bars in before I had to come inside.

It's been a while since I've updated anything on here. I have been doing some work to my trucks lately. I swapped the previous cage for a different one and then proceeded to lop off the top and rear of this one as well.

I pulled the Mamba X and 3800 sensored motor from a Slash I have and put them in this truck. Ordered some 43/13s and Incision spools for both ends of the truck and got those installed. I bent up a B pillar bar and some supports and then burned those in to tie the rear back together. I was going for more of a truck look but to me it looks like a really rowdy Tracker. I may be able to sway the looks a little once I add panels. Now it needs some grinding on the joints and a few more little support bars in the rear for a cargo area then it will be ready for blasting and paint.

..... Your Wraith is most definitely different!!! I like it. There's so many of these out there, and we all try to individualize ours, to varying degrees. You've gone a few steps beyond that!!

That's still here. I'll be making a thread for that once I get a little more of it done. I switched it to SCX10s and will be working on that also.

So last night I did a little bit of sheetmetal work. I made some floor pans for my Mamba to sit on, made some body sides, a battery tray, and a front area filler panel that I'm not too happy with.

I build 1/8th scale demolition derby cars and the bodies are made from sheet aluminum by hand. Each car has 120-140 rivets so my workbench top takes a beating. I have new plywood to make a new top. I'm just waiting for it to get warmer.

I've been playing around with sheet metal and fabbing enough lately that I'm considering getting a small, bench top combo brake and sheer from Harbor Freight. I recently made an aluminum dash for my Wraith using my bench vice. Problem there is the vice only has some much "throat" for bends. I was pretty much maxed out just doing that little dash. My next project plan is to do a full floor pan and trans tunnel for the Wraith. Really considering a small, 110v welder too, but not sure it will have enough sack for small tubing for cages, etc? ZERO experience welding so no clue. (Should be enough for light sheet metal though)

Those ^ are all on a Slash chassis and use 1.9 wheels by the way to give a scale. Bodies are 24"-26" long with bumpers.
