Default Wraith Skid

Im working on assembling pieces for a build and not going the kit route. Is it worth going with the Hot racing skid or is there little advantage to it?

thanks!

Disadvantage.

Get a stock skid.

Stock plastic skids dont gouge as easily as the aluminum skids. This translates to less hangups, and sliding over sharp peaks and etc easier.

stock plastic skid slides off rocks better then alloy will.

save your money and spend it elsewhere.

if I were to use a different skid besides the original...
it would be one machined from delrin.

Another vote for stock. As long as you don't strip out anything it will last a very very long time.

Yes I have to agree with the majority, plastic seems to glide better while keeping it lighter than aluminum!

You mean those bearings are worthless for sliding over rocks?

Plastic (stock or delrin), steel (stainless or otherwise), or titanium is best for things that get frequently dragged over rocks. Aluminum will eventually get gouged up enough that it does more harm than good.

The stock Wraith skid works just fine.
