| Axial wraith good servos for $60 or under
I'm looking for a decent servo for my wraith. Not looking to spend too much money... Maybe $60. Any suggestions?

I just ordered one of these: Tower Pro Digital MG968 servo Seemed like the best budget choice. There's a thread on it in the electronics forum. |

Look at savox servos... great for the price. I use all hitech pricier but indestructible. I got a 4 year old I let bash and not a difference since I bought them Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk |

I use savox servos in my other truck and I love them. Would you recommend a certain savox servo?

I ran the early production Solar D772 servo... and it worked and held up acceptably on my SCX-10. But their current production run is no longer the same. and for starters the center gear can be a failure upon delivery. As the primary and cog gears are not compressed properly and if they spin free of each other... the servo (steering) fails. Is what happens when ya offer/sell an inexpensive servo and try to produce it at even lower production costs I personally will no longer purchase/run the D772's as they are not what they used to be. Better and more powerful and near the OP's budget is... the Savox SA 1230 SG @ $ 69.99 most everywhere. monster 500 oz/in of torque @ 6v ^ and very close in performance to what is claimed by the mfg'r. Many folk complain that the Savox 1230 is digital noisy (centering)... but compared to my prior D772's... seems less so to me. I would definitely run an external adjustable BEC if choosing the Savox 1230 servo... or any hi torque servo rated above 300 oz/in. Obviously the voltage setting would be dependent of what the servo's requirements are. Here's a video showing my Savox 1230 SG at work turning 5.80" tires on a 6th scale Wraith based platform... https://youtu.be/Gbm-UYKWCag I'm purdy happy with it... so I purchased another for back up Obviously I'm not hammering down and abusing things... so if that's the intent... I can't say how durable it will be. Last edited by TacoCrawler; 02-01-2016 at 11:19 AM. |

Just depends what your doing, just crawling or trail/bashing around? For technical crawling with bigger tires and a heavier rig, you cant beat the savox 1230 for 70 bucks. But you will need a bec so thats another 20 bucks. For trail/bashing around the towerpro 968 should be enough (still get a bec). Im running the tower pro in my 2.2 losi which is 4.3 lbs and just technical crawling and while it does a good job (for now, putting my hitec 7950 back in), I can stall it out. I also run the tower pro in my yeti xl and it does very good and turns the huge tires no problem.
