Default Help choosing appropriate motor.

1.9 wraith weighing 8-9lbs ish. 13t crawl master vs 27t torquemaster. General crawling with a mix of trail runs. Don't fully understand the torque vs rpm applications.

you will probably be happy either way, I have the torquemaster in the same falvor. its pretty awesome motor, it woud say crawlmaster if youre leaning towards crawling, and torquemaster if more trailing

yep, let the name guide you. Crawlmaster has better low speed control, very refined feel. The TorqueMaster has more grunt, and starts up smoothly enough to use in technical terrain.

I only use 13t or 11t CrawlMaster in my personal rigs.

I'm new to the scale crawler scene and am in the same situation. Don't know what motor to get. I would like something with enough wheel speed for climbing sand hills but still have low end control and torque for the rocks. I'm leaning toward the crawl master but don't know if it will have enough wheel speed. Maybe I will get both!

What would the 11 turn be equal to in a 3 slot motor turns?

Use caution climbing sand hills. Any brushed motor can get toasted in less than 5 attacks with a heavy hand. It is why I only recommend brushless for ANY hill climbing. 2700kv to 3500 would give the best crawl and wheelspeed range.

About a 23t in wheelspeed. It has a noticeable torque loss compared to the 13t, in the wraith you have to gear low. I prefer 13t for the wraith and 11t for scx10.

Thanks for the answers. I'm also looking at getting a 2 speed transmission and trying a torque master 550 21 turn.

What about if I'm running 2S? Would the Crawlmaster Expert 540 be to slow?

Slow is personal preference. You are better off running more gear reduction and 3s lipo than stock gearing on 2s lipo though. Volt up, Gear down. If you find our faster brushed offerings to be too slow on 2s, you always have room to go up in voltage. 2200mah packs are plenty big and also very cheap.
