Default Need gear ratio advice

Our wraith has grown to just a hair under 11lbs. The ambient temps here in the summer are around 100F. Currently running a 13t crawlmaster on 3s. 56 tooth spur/10 tooth pinion. Stock gear ratio in the diffs. Just trailing temps are fine but as soon as the motor has a constant load on it when doing some aggressive crawling, getting way too hot.

I want to keep some wheel speed if possible.

Thanks!

Just might have to go brushless to meet your expectations, but there are 550 choices too. Gearing is about as good as you could ask for except having UD gears.

Is it a Pro motor or Expert? If expert, a handwound arm would run cooler.

Can you recommend a brushless? I've been meaning to upgrade anyway.

Castle Mamba Monster X for the ESC and Holmes Hobbies Puller Pro standard in 3500kv. This is a do-everything-very-well setup that will make you wonder why you didn't upgrade sooner.

You could go with a mama max pro and a trailmaster motor in 3300kv, to save a little. Should still get the job done, this combo is working in my bomber with a wraith body very well.

Puller Pro 3500 is what I put in almost all my crawlers. If you don't want too fast, the 2700kv and 2200kv is a fine choice too. 2200kv will be closest in speed to your crawlmaster, won't need to change gearing.
