Default Need recommendation on a droop kit

Does anyone make a kit that doesn't require butchering the hood? Thanks in advance.

Gearhead lowering kit from RPP is cheap.
Gear Head RC Wraith Droop - Lowering Kit

The front plates will come through the hood but being delrin are easily cut so you could just take off as much as you need to be under.

Ckrc makes a wraith droop kit that doesn't require cutting.

Great I have a level3 and it requires cutting the hood. I'll check it out, thanks.

Why not just limit your shocks?

In my opinion you don't need a droop kit. With proper shock set up and your shocks mounted in the right locations it will sit low. If you go to low you will drag your belly on everything.

This is the CKRC droop kit installed. Had to cut hood but really only for the G-Made Piggyback shocks due to the reservoir. Plate itself didn't really push above hood when closed. Probably could have gotten away without cutting the extra slots on hood with the Ol' Dremel. Hope this helps. Hood is Dinky RC.

Can someone please explain to me why they call a lowering kit a droop kit? Droop refers to the uptravel at ride height being minimal, therefore most if not all of the travel happening during droop. A lot of this can be done simply by raising the spring adjusters, but remember, you still need spring tension to full extension to drive the shock out when needed. Different/softer spring is usually needed to accomplish this properly. Now if you are lowering the chassis by raising the shock mounts so the axles hit the chassis before the shocks are at full compression, you are wasting shock travel. With all of that said, there are 2 schools of thought to uptravel vs droop only. In a full droop setup, the tire must pick up the full weight of the rig at that corner to climb the obstacle. Some say that weight improves traction given to that particular tire. The other school of thought is, having uptravel reduces the amount of weight the tire needs to lift to climb the obstacle. In my opinion, full droop setups tend to work best on areas that have more steep, flat climbs, while more uptravel tends to work better in areas where ground clearance is key like small rocky areas.
