Default Fuzzy's Spawn Basket Case

So I picked this Wraith up locally yesterday on CL along with some other stuff. I bought it without asking any questions since the deal I got on it was too good to pass up

The good:

-Newer Castle Sidewinder 8th scale system with 2200KV motor
-Savox SW1211SG servo
-Spektrum TX/RX
-Aluminum links
-Aluminum front diff cover
-Aluminum steering links

The bad (so far):

-Some horrible front bumper
-Spur gear destroyed
-Trans case
-Trans skid
-Trans gears rusty
-Shocks that are way too big

I can't for the life of me figure out why the axles are clocked down so far, as far as I can tell the links are right but the axles are clocked a crazy amount

ESC was mounted to the roof?!?

The axles are clocked like that to keep the driveshafts from binding completely due to those obnoxiously oversized shocks. Open up the diffs to see if those are stripped also.

It looks like this rig hasn't seen much off-road time, the axle housings and skid are in good condition. It was probably a concrete princess that someone put way too much power to.

Lol yeah the esc was the first thing that was removed. There is no interior so i guess he thought that was the best place.

As for the axles I compared it to my other wraith and with the shocks detached it's still like that when the skid is at normal ride height. I at first thought something was funny with the links but I guess I'll have to dive deeper and thrown the stock shocks back on.

Other than that got my list of parts to get at the lbs tomorrow

New spur
Skidplate
Clamping wheel hexes
Front bumper/ support
Trans case

That's at least the beginning we'll see where she goes from there. Gotta make a plan since I already have a trail/crawler wraith

The upper links look like that have rod ends that were cut off the stock plastic links. So maybe they are the wrong length

I believe the problem is lying within the rod ends, I have tried everything else. Gonna add a swt of the axial rod ends to my lost and try to match the links up with my other wraith and hopefully get this resolved. I should only have to wait on the trans case i the mail everything else my lhs has

Got the link issue figured out, the upper links are longer than normal so with long rod ends on all of the lower links and short rod ends on all of the uppers it straightened out the axles, 1 problem down who knows how many to go.....

one other thing. I had one that the axle link mounts were on upside down and that threw the links off.

I thought that too so I flipped the rear axle ones and it didn't fix anything, My other wraith has them the same as these so I just flipped them back around

The trans case is the right one I just installed the replacement yesterday. The trans feels a lot better now but still doesn't feel great. Gonna throw a set of bearings in and see if that smooths it out at all, if not a new set of gears will go in. Makes me wish I would have just bought a complete trans to begin with but like we all know hindsight is 20/20

The Wraith tranny can be upgraded with dig as opposed to 2 speed. It's the Yeti/Bomber and new SCX10 transmissions that can upgrade to 2 speed.

No wonder he exploded the spur gear. Ahhhh waiting for parts

At least you are in Wisconsin in the winter, you got no where to go. Just got to wait, wait, wait.

I don't remember my motor plate having the differing hole sizes for the screws. Now I'm curious, gonna check mine

Ya going to stick with the. . . . . big wheels?

The previous owner drilled out the motor plate to allow the gear ratio he was running, new motor plate is on the way. Not sure about the wheels/tires I have a couple other options.

Oh and as for the weather, That would be the case any other year but this is what we're looking at currently
