which is a better design and better buy ? Vanquish or Hot Racing ? other ? Vanquish... ( $ 17.98 for two pair (silver) The Vanquish costs more coin and has a flat back/front (not incl. button head-cap screws), with a full width machined slot at the back side. But no rear facing centering nubs for the screws centering/alignment in the servo's ears. Hot racing... ( $ 17.76 for two pair (black) The HR has machined nubs on the backside that fit into the servo's ear holes and the clamp's screw holes are a machined/countersink. It utilizes/includes tapered screws, but the backside slot is cut only half way across. I'd need to purchase two sets of these of but the cost seems kinda tall for what they are. other options for a similar product ? |

Between those 2 I'd go HR as I like their design better. If I was just looking for clamps I'd go with rcbros every single time. RC Bros Flush Mount 1/10th Servo Clamps | |

...Thanks for that link didn't realize RCBros mfgr'd/sold them their lower cost garnered my coin. ...long as you say they work ------------- So I signed in to RCbros... but it won't let me sign out !? Message reads: word press failure notice emailed RCbros regarding edit 1/22/17 Tho' I received no response from RCBros I came to conclude that the site's link for sign out does not work as one might assume. And that your personal account sign out is the only method of signing out of your acct. I guess ya never really sign out or off their website page as your user name never appears on the main page and only in the cart. ? So... click Account tab, > drop down > account again > sign in/out. The main page Account sign in/out on the drop down does not allow for account sign in/out. Weird Last edited by TacoCrawler; 01-22-2017 at 06:52 PM. |

Make sure your servo lines up perfectly to the mount before you order the HR or Jofer clamps. My Savox servo is a few mm wider than the VP mount, I can barely cheat the screws in against the case. The clamps with stands would force the screws to center, no way they would line up.

So I received my RCBros servo clamps in the mail. Their shipping was prompt and the item is as shown. Installed easily and precisely. I know they will improve the strength of servo's that utilize an alloy case and mounting ears... As they fit tightly and without any movement of the servo. I might be a little more concerned about installing them on a plastic cased servo / having plastic ears. But would only worry about that if I drove it like a madman or slammed into stationary objects at higher speeds. I've read about folk breaking the plastic servo housing or ears off. Tho' there are likely other reasons for this occurance. I personally have had no issue with this issue in the past. I personally like these and how they strengthen the servo's mounting and keep the servo centered, no matter what torque is applied. Granted I would not purchase these if were still utilizing the plastic mounts. As the plastic mounts would still likely flex - move some. These are design as a hard servo mount and have no play or flex at all. So with alloy mounts and these clamps combined... The servo's mounting is rock solid and steering is precision. I'd recommend using blue locktite on the screws threading into the alloy mounting blocks. This may ensure they stay tight when put under extreme steering/torque loads. If those screws backed out slightly and the servo became loose... this could be the cause of excessive damage to a plastic servo case and horns. Tho' some may have never utilized these before... Under the right circumstances... they should not be overlooked or ignored. Good luck to all... in however you choose to mount your servos. Pics of those on both my SCX-10 ( 1:10 Honcho ) and Wraith ( 1:6 TJ Jeep ) Both utilize the integy alloy/CF mounts. Last edited by TacoCrawler; 01-29-2017 at 06:29 PM. |
