Why would you want one in a Wraith?

1. No need for 2 speed at all. Why would you want that? 2. If you insist on 2 speed, much better option from SSD which retail $99-100 for a kit I can't see ONE advantage with the new "improved" transmissions from Axial. I run a Wraith transmission in my Bomber. |

Also, you can just 2-speed the wraith tranny.

Also, you could just buy metal gears for the wraith trans

The RC4WD AX2 transmission has a 2 speed, drops right in the wraith, and it's pretty stout. Been running one for years without an issue. No need for the bomber trans.

The trans/motor combo should fit physically just fine in the Wraith cage, & should in fact allow you to run a 550 can motor without it interfering with right rear upper link mount on the skid like they do on a Wraith trans (mount can be trimmed) If you've still got it the rear mount battery tray will have to go though. What it will interfere with is the interior, again personally I'd rather a Spawn/Bomber cockpit & either of those should fit over the Bomber trans. Then theres the fact the Bomber trans won't bolt straight onto the Wraith skid, you'll have to be drilling some holes, come up with an adaptor plate or you may be able to source a 3D printed skid to suit. I know theres on to do the other swap, Wraith trans on Bomber skid, don't know about this way. That still leaves sorting a servo mounting as well. The 2 "issues" above could be sorted with the use of a Bomber skid but that forces the use of straight not triangualted lower links, good for racing, less ideal for crawling. Some of those might be reasons to not do it, but doesn't mean it can't be done. | |

Hi, I'm also wondering which transmission for my Wraith: one of the plastic gears is dead, so I would like to replace inside transmission pinions with hard metal parts, but I can't decide between these 2 sets which one would be the best option: , ,(SSD00172) by SSD HD Steel Transmission Gears or for Axial Wraith #1552, ,(1552) by Robinson Racing Hardened Steel Bottom Differential Gear Gun Metal + for Axial Wraith #1551, ,(1551) by Robinson Racing Hardened Steel Idler Gear Gun Metal could you help me to choose ? |

Either the SSD or Hot Racing. Both are the 3gear set Even Harley said the HR are good , much to my surprise. His upgrade video showing the bombproof uses HR Hang up and Drive |
