Default 45 Steel vs Carbon Steel cvd's

Getting ready to mod a set of wraith axles and narrow them. With that being said I am looking for a set of front cvd's to hack up and since I have had good luck with the tfl products and the price is right on them so I am looking at their cvd's (I am not wanting to spend a ton on a set of cvd's for my 1st go round at shortening them).
Thing is that they make them in 45 Steel and carbon steel and I am not sure which ones I choice get and if there really are any real strength differences. I will be running a 17.5t brushless motor on 2s
