| Mystery radio box mount
I have my wraith spawn apart today and I'm looking through my parts and found what seems to be a mystery radio box mount. I can't figure out where it can mount. What seems to be the mounting holes don't seem to match up to anything. The mounts are about 1.5 in. center to center and nothing seems to have that spread. Any ideas? |

Is it possible it's a SCX10 part as I have one of those as well but the radio box is different than in the wraith. The one shown in the manual has cross bracing under the box. The one mounted in RTR spawn doesn't but Brianator is on to something. On page 29 of the manual it shows what looks like the part. The thing is the spread where it seems to mount on my truck is only about an inch. Could it be that there is a different front suspension mount on the wraith spawn RTR? I don't seem to have any other pieces that were included to make it work but it's entirely possible that it's still in the box buried in my closet. I did find out that with some very minor sanding the radio box fits in-between the rear rails where the battery box is. All you need to do is cut the ends off of the SCX10 part that allows for no rear bumper and drill 2 holes in it and use this as a pinch mount to mount the box in the back. Then cut off one of the battery box mounts that attach to the rear strut towers and take a nut and bolt and mount that forward. It s a bit tight but a 3s fits just fine. |
