I've been struggling with the interior on this rig for quite some time. The raised driveline really makes things crowded when trying to use simple bends and angles (I'm a simple man). It's taken me a long time, and many failures, to get to this point. Ultimately I'm left with a drivetrain tunnel and a very simple dash. The edges and detail work have not been done yet. I have some fine sanding to get tighter fitment for the finished product. The seat, shifters, steering wheel, etc still need to be drilled and mounted. I'll be shopping for some sticker packages to fill up all the space on the tunnel. On the passenger side, the motor was just too obtrusive to bother fitting the seat. Plan is to mount a radiator fan, high lift jack, tow strap, etc on that side. Last edited by MRCrackhead; 08-28-2017 at 07:59 AM. Reason: Spelling |

Looks good. Keep us posted on the sticker hunt. I've got an Axial interior and seats but not the stickers.

Nothing special. Long day on the road today. Hanging at a motel for the week. Brought the rig along to tinker a bit. Got the front axle back in tonight, that was it. Like the look of the seat that I didn't have before....now I sleep. |

Got some holes drilled tonight. Seat, shifters, and steering wheel are mounted. Here's the firewall from under the hood. Looking back at this photo, I realized the screws were likely going to rub the battery. I swapped them for a shorter pair, like the hood screws. |

11/10 man this rig looks awesome! What kind of job do/did you have to get this good at fabrication? |

Appreciate the feedback... Considering the rig's humble start, I'm really starting to dig it myself.

Tore everything back apart tonight and painted a couple areas. Got the electronics area and firewall flat black. Did the cabin firewall and floor area. I left the dash and tunnel silver so the gauges would still be easy to see. Interior stickers are coming from a couple online vendors. I really like the black. It helps all the garbage up front "blend" in so much better. |

Picked up a couple scale items today. Battery setup on the passenger side fits like I planned it (which I did not). I'm waiting for the interior stickers before I mount anything on the tunnel. Just placed the items on there for this picture. |

Being on the road can be a bummer.....unless the town your in has a freakin sweet off-road course. I'm working in Winchester Virginia at the moment. Adrenaline RC Racing and Hobby just so happens to be 12 minutes away from my motel. They've got a ridiculously huge, covered dirt track, for those that are into speed. More importantly, they have a huge scaler course out back for slower folks like myself. Hill climb corrals Bridges everywhere Various forms of log obstacles |

I've never attempted many of the obstacles I found there today. Ramps, rocks, logs.... Indiana Jones would be jealous of this log path. The owner's son happened to have his Wraith at the shop today. It was a lot of fun having a second rig running the course. Last edited by MRCrackhead; 09-01-2017 at 07:19 PM. |

This tunnel obstacle had so many variations. Really well thought out. I really need to get my lights working. This pic would have been cooler. I didn't have my drag brake turned on. Not sure why...... Made a lot of the obstacles much harder. I'll be fixing that after I'm done typing all this nonsense. MORE bridges.....hahaha It started to rain lightly near the end of my run. With the rocks all wet, and slick, getting to the top of this was a real delight. Though I have to work tomorrow, I'm in a real good mood.... Thanks Adrenaline RC! Back home tonight. Had some stickers waiting. Freqeskins had a page with interior gauges, GPS, switches, etc. Also got another assorted page from them with some random stuff that may be used. RPP Hobby supplied the necessary 2nd Amendment badges |

So I scored some wheels off the boards. Addy's rig really needed some new wheels. The fake chrome was all chipped and they just looked awful. Before... After.... |

Stickers had to wait today. There's another new house being built in our neighborhood. Addy and I took her new wheels out to get them dirty. It was a good time. Muddy, dirty, and within walking distance...lol Last edited by MRCrackhead; 09-03-2017 at 08:13 PM. |

Had a chance to work on the rig tonight. Still need to get another item or two for the passenger floor board area. Looking for some speakers to put on the rear bulkhead. Needs something.... This fuel cell sticker is better than nothing I suppose. I put the fake filler cap off to the side. This allows me to put a "vent" tube or something to make it look a bit more authentic. Gonna think about this one a bit more first. |

Donor shocks on this rig are handling extremely well. They may stick around for a while. Funds are needed elsewhere. Decided to get some fresh oil in them. As built, the rear shocks are 95mm eye to eye. The front shocks were limited to 88mm for the sportsman rig. Took all that stuff out and made them 95mm, like the rears. I stood the front shocks up one hole in the factory mounts. That should slow the front end down a bit and help control torque twist a little more. Altogether, I gained some flex. Around 5 inches now. I'm of the mindset that too much articulation is not helpful. About 1 tire height seems to be a good rule of thumb. My ride height is about 2.75" to the bottom of the tucked skid now. That's about 1/4" higher than what I've been running. Going to give it a try. |

I volunteer for the forest service and drive a rig with 37" tires and run with many truggies. We have come to places that were impossible for us to pass through and these truggies twist to where the front and rear axles are at less than 90 degrees from each other in opposite directions. These things are amazing. Too much articulation at high speed is not a fun ride but low speed crawling provides an advantage. Your rig is looking great! You mention in earlier posts that you used a heat gun to help bend the frame when you did the narrowed front end, obviously the frame did not go back to its original shape (some folks on here said that it may). How much heat did you us? Low heat or high since the guns usually have 2 settings. Did you have to use a metal funnel or anything to protect other areas? Just asking because I have a problem fit with a metal stiffy to the Delrin frame and I am also going to need to narrow my front end, my tires rub the frame during articulation. |

How does this vehicle even drive like this? Needs some limiter straps.... Being able to carry a tire over large crevasses or holes is the name of the game where I crawl. That's why I roll "one tire height old school style"....lol Quote:
I used the heat gun on both settings, depending. Low heat worked when bending the two roof tubes. I could keep both nice and warm at the same time. I used high heat up front because there were 4 bars and I had to move so often to heat evenly. The higher temp wasn't too much, spread evenly. No special funnels or shields used. I haven't noticed the tubes trying to return to straight.
