| Building a Wraith from scratch.
I am building a Wraith from scratch and I have some questions. I want to go with a brushless motor speed control setup. I have been looking and reading and my head is starting to hurt. Should I go with sensored or none sensored ? What size A and T ? I was looking at this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/SKYRC-Cheet...YAAOSwqbxZ8zQP Is this one good or not. Thank you for your help. |

I run a sensor less but it's a long can 3660. I will got sensored the next time. Many here will chime in with the better choices of motor and ESC. Wait til after lunch through to tonight.

A higher turn/lower kV is best...to an extent. Sensored and around 3000-3500kV is good. Sensorless around 2000-3000kV.

I run a PullerPro3500, BLE Fully sensored and tunable . Cost is about 3times what you’ve shown. . That motor shown is a 8.5 t 3 wires sensored. That is more of a car racing motor, and if it’s a two pole, not as much torque as you want for crawling Hang up and Drive |

Sensored. You definitely want sensored for any sort of crawling.

Like mikemcE stated, that set up looks more like a shortcourse or touring car set-up. I will say, there ebay ad looks pretty well turned out and it has a quality look. But, as the saying goes, ya get what ya pay for. Like 99.9% of people on this site, I can't say enough good things about Holmes Hobbies stuff. Awesome products, awesome support. You pay more up front, but well worth the $. Let us know what you end up with. If you do go with that cheetah system from Ebay, I'd be curious to hear a review. |
