Default Long time coming...this wraiths story

About 5 years ago I bought this RTR Wraith new. It was my first real RC of any kind. My experience with RC cars had been limited to other folks Traxxas trucks . Looking around on YouTube, the scale and crawling videos caught my eye, and I came to the conclusion that I would like a Wraith. I have never regretted my choice, but had no idea what I was getting in to
At first I was content to drive it until something broke, and repairing it with identical factory replacement parts. Soon, I began to be tempted by shiny "upgrade" and "hop-up" parts.
There was a period of trial and error before I came across this site. A time of live and learn about the various parts manufacturer's, vendors, sources and advice givers.
After finding this site I became a follower of Harley's guides and videos, and order nearly everything from RPP
Between repairs and rounds of upgrades this wraith would often sit on the shelf for long periods of time, untouched, until inspiration would strike again. I finally think I see a light at the end of the tunnel with this one. It's one hell of a back yard basher and I can run it hard for a few sessions in a row with no failures or breakdowns
The theme comes from the movie "Captain America The First Avenger"
It's set in the Marvel Comics WWII Universe where they have "enhanced tech" In the movie Capt. America had a tricked out assault motorcycle, I wondered what it would be like if he had a 4 wheeled assault vehicle.

Originally an Axial Wraith RTR, all of that which remains are the skid plate, majority of the tube frame, and scale interior.

The Battery is forward, hood is hinged and held down magnetically. The esc and receiver box are rear in the original battery tray under the rear deck. The LED light bars run off a separate battery pack which also sits forward. I did the fastback mod using a pair of Axial aluminum straight links.
What do you think?

Cool truck! I just bought the roof rack and leds. I went with the aluminum luxury rc black panels with long roof. I may have to change that up someday. I like the chopped rear. Yours looks good!

Ah, you're the guy I saw post on reddit. Yeah really like what you did with it. Guns may need some repositioning though.... looks like the bumper got chewed up by friendly fire.

Still running my original radio and receiver, probably be the next upgrade. I would like another channel and think the new esc and brushless motor are deserving of a new radio.

The Junfac universals have come apart on me a few times? The forward/front one twice. Will probably order a set of MIP's the next time this happens, or to have as backup, rather than repair the Junfac's again

Looks cool man! You know, I haven't had any issues with the stock Axial WB8, or whatever it's called driveshafts...the ones that come standard in the kit version of the Bombers. I bought some MIPs to run and don't have issues with those either, but went back to the Axial b/c it's quieter. Just my opinion.

Same here. I’ve had no problems out of the WB8 shafts. With the older version I had a few get twisted up. But you can shove a piece of dowel or something in the inner piece to stiffen it up.

I wound the originals up pretty good. Twisted licorice. They were plastic. Nursed them along for a bit, but they eventually had to go.
