Default Second Hand Wraith

After a week of buggin the crap out of people trying to trade my rtr associated short course trucks I ended up with an scx10 an scx10ii and a wraith. all of them were complete just needed to be put together. So after two days of digging through parts I got the wraith built and going.

I put an ae5 in it with a 27t axial motor. not sure what size pinion gear but rather large for a crawler I suppose.

My problem right now is after crawling on my comp course for about 10 minutes it started cutting out and I could smell the motor and when I looked; a little bit of smoke was coming from it.

---Did I put the wrong motor in this thing? I wanted some wheel speed but I think crawling her killed it......

any ideas? thanks!

few pics of the heep

Go down to a smaller pinion if the motor isn’t toasted already.

I'm going to get into it this evening hopefully. I got some titanium links yesterday from Hardcore RC so I'm get those on and then swap motors and will check what pinion gear I'm running before I put it all back together.

Well after a few hours of wrenching last night I got her back together. Some new titanium links were due so I got them put together snapped a pic and then tore it apart. I removed the axial 27t motor and put the tekin 45t motor in with a 14t pinion gear. it has a lot more torque now and with the 3s it has enough wheel speed. I installed an led light bar under the hood that's on its own switch and mounted some gas cans in the back and changed out those ugly blue rear cage bars. All I got to do now is put a scale Christmas related item on it like a tree or something so I can enter the toys for tots comp on dec 9th.

Next on the list but probably not before the comp will be a new solar d772 servo with a CC BEC set at 7.4V to replace the 150oz/in tactic servo.

After the comp ill see what I want to do next but I know I want rear steer and see it used a lot in comp vids so ill just have to wait and see how bad I do haha.

I'm not so sure about the front bumper.... yes or no?

not too much to update. clutch slips under load so I think the discs might be worn out. slipper is all the way tight. I went to 3s and remounted the electronics under the hood. I put memory foam in the tires which made a huge difference. you can have the best everything but if your tires and foams suck then your gonna struggle lol
