To all old guys that might remember me: How you been? Its been a long time.. To all new guys that haven't got a clue to who I am: Hi, nice to meet you all. The reason I disappeared from here was that I lost part of my family in an accident and.. as you all knows it takes time to recover from that. My intrest never went away.. I just had to focus on life and the aftermath.. Anyway.. I have been thinking about how to get more space up front to accomodate the ESC, a powerfull steeringservo on CMS and the reciever etc.. Axial have those parts that connects the top of the bumper to the lower frame rail and although they do their job I thought I could do better and maybe even get more adjustability (read mountingpoints) for the shocks and a stiffer front end as a bonus.. This is what I came up with.. To be able to remove that bumper - lower rail part, I had to let it become an integral part of the whole piece. The result..? Well.. Its more space and the front of the chassis are considerably stiffer. It might not be pretty.. but in my case function before form.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry about the welds.. I havent been doing Aluminium in a few years. Over to the rear.. You all knew this was going to happen.. Dindn't you? Yes I will be trimming off the stubs where I cut the original chassis.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edit: Couldn't change the header for the previous thread so I deleted it and made a new one with some extras. Sorry about that. |
