Wraith antenna

Just got a new Wraith. Getting used to Axial formats after breaking in on a Slash 2WD, a stock Rustler and a full boat TRX 4.

Cannot find the antenna. I do have a hole in the hood that lines up with the receiver. also I noticed that most of the pics on this forum do not have a hole in the hood or any sign of an antenna.

I ordered a antenna as listed in the parts manual to be safe. Do I need one?

You mean antenna tube, right? Pretty sure there's an antenna if there's a receiver included. Is the wire coming out of the Rx box?

I got one in my Spawn Kit. But with 2.4GHz short antennas (antennae?) there's really no need for a footlong tube. I usually cut the ends off a Q-tip and stick the end of the antenna wire in there, just so it's vertical. On my wraith build I fastened a piece of antenna tube along one of the A-pillars of the cage and stuck the end of the antenna wire in there.

Check inside the Rx,the antenna should be there. Most of us take the antenna tube off and coil the antenna wire up inside the Rx so there isn't any chance of damaging the antenna. Do you need an antenna,yes. Do you need the antenna sticking through the hood,no but it's up to you. As far as having an antenna tube,one can be made.

Most newer rx have an internal antenna now. With 2.4 it’s not needed

Good news! haven't checked the RX box yet. now I have a unneeded hole in the hood----dang! now I have to select an awesome hood!

Suggestions? Like the reverse opening feature.

The Tactic Rx/Tx doesn't have an external antenna.

I love it for that!
