Will do! I think just that bit of increased clearance alone will be worth it. And, the material seems like it's going to slide better than the OE skid. Kind has a derlin feel to it.

Got a chance to shake down the Wraith with the new, low profile 3D printed skid on the backyard course today. If it's not a game changer, it's damn close! Stuff that I was dragging bottom on before with the OE Wraith skid, I was gliding right over today. The quietness of it was the strangest part! I also noticed it coming over the tops of steep climbs that would usually high-center me a bit. I'd have to goose the trigger to pop out and over. I was casually gliding right over the tops this afternoon.

I was also impressed with the way the skid did slide when on the rocks. I detected very minimal drag as it encountered some of the sharp edge stuff.

I'm thoroughly pleased with this part and mod and would recommend it to anyone. I'm also digging the look of the Spawn body. Just changes up the look of this rig so much. ironically, after all that weight savings I did, it kinda has me wanting too scale her out again! Yes, I'm a fool!

I also added some textured bedliner along the rockers and wheel wells just to set the body off a bit more.

The black makes it look nice. I've got the same body, might do the same once I get a new one. (I'd be putting lipstick on a pig if I were to do my current shot body...)

Thanks Steve g

I'd been looking for a good deal on the Spawn body for a while. Scored this one on Amazon for $36 new in the bag - free shipping.

I love the look of the Spawn body crawling.

Me too Brake Weight! Kinda has a Jeep / Scout thing going on.

The only issue I'm having is some wheel rub on the body from the Pitbull Rockbeasts. It's not real bad, and I really don't want to trim and open up the wheel wells unless I absolutely have to. Going to run it like it is for a while and see.

Can you offset the wheels any?

Yeah, I have some different hubs, but I really don't wanna widen the stance if I can avoid it.

My proline xls rub my body too. Been like that for exactly 1 year now, hasn't damaged the body or tires. Sometimes it sounds pretty bad, but I think cause it's going so slow when rubbing it doesn't do much. It might rub your black paint off though, since it's on the outside of the body

My Flatiron XLs rub the cage even without the body (stock Method Spawn kit wheels). Doesn't matter

Yeah, it’s really more of an annoyance than any real problem.

One of the things I love about the Wraith platform is its chameleon like ability to change looks. Here I put the Jeep body back on, and changed up the wheel and tire combo giving the rig a whole 'nother character.

So, after running the rig most of this past season in it's stripped down, lower weight configuration, I decided to make some concessions. Given that it's now getting dark at like 5:30 around here, I threw some lighting back on and added a couple little scale bits. I like this new GearHeadRC roof rack I scored as it already had mounting points for the lights below the roofline - should keep from destroying them in the inevitable roll overs.

For on-off lighting function, I just used a basic toggle switch and mounted it right in the cockpit. Kinda looks like a "low" selector in there! Plus it's easy to get to, but still out of the way.

Doing a full "SCALE" build on the Baja Rey over the Winter, so I had some pieces and parts laying around from it. Took the radiator that sat behind the cab of the Baja Rey and did a little bit of trimming and fitting. And my least favorite thing.....painting. Anyway, I think the Wraith is looking good with the scale bits again. It was fun to have it paired down to the bare minimum for a while, but I do dig the look of her all kitted up.

Going on a little trail run and crawl tonight. She's all cleaned up, packs charged and ready to rip. We're going to be circumnavigating a large pond that has a nice little single track trail around it and then end up at a gravel pit that has a lot of nice rocks and features to play on. Rig should be good and filthy by the end as we've had a lot of snow and it's beginning to melt a bit. Oh well, at least the Wraith is easy to tear down and work on. (Sarcasm)!
