I was thinking of trying that. That's what I used to hold the interior in my Barronco build. I'm wondering if it will have enough contact patch on those skinny frame rails though? I guess I can always give it a whirl and see how it holds. It'd be sweet to not have stuff pokin through! Thanks for the additional ideas Brake Weight! |

Wrap the fuzzy side on the rail and stick the scratchy to the hood.

Brake Weight - I just got done doing the velcro. I came in from the garage to post up and laughed to myself because that's exactly how I applied it. IDK why, but it seemed logical for the fuzzy to be on the rails and the scratchy to be on the hood. Anyway, below is a pic. I think this actually might work and it seems to have pretty good grab strength. The only thing I would have done differently if I knew I was going to mount with velcro is to space the bends on the cowl that little bit more to accommodate the stand-off of the velcro. That said, it looks pretty good and NO poke throughs in the hood! |

Si, guey You may could curl/space the edges of the scratchy side while ty some double sided tape if it doesn’t adhere like you want. Sheeeeeeeit. Now I want one of these chassis. |

Somewhere near Compton Ca mine is lost off the USPS docks. Odd made it all the way to LA, then to disappear ! So I’m using a virgin wraith tube frame with 3D printed goodies !! This such a fun look and build ! Hang up and Drive |

How are you liking the internal spring shocks? I had a set on my Truggy for a while and just couldn't get them where I wanted them. I did like how "clean" they looked though.

Well Gents, I do believe I'm going to finish my beer and call it a night. Stepped out to the garage and lit her up with all the lights off. I do think she'll light up the trail and rocks just fine! |

Miss a little, miss a LOT around here!! LOVE that Hood!!! I honestly think you could make a buck or two selling those on EvilBay... And you're right, it's BEGGING for some Shark Teeth!! I see you got Hood locking sorted.... When I saw your sketches, I thought a pretty good idea would have been to attach the file Velcro to that Cross Plate. It would give you more surface area for the Hood to lock on to. |

Thanks Carmine. That’s true, it could provide more surface area for attachment. It’s pretty good now, but I may do some tweaks.

| Re: Wraith based Rock Bouncer I ran mine full of oil, halfway full, no oil, medium springs, firm springs. I just couldn't seem to get them dialed for the Truggy. I might try them out on this Rock Bouncer build though. I do like the look of them! |

I had them on my Bully2. They worked quite well, once I hit the right firmness of springs, I wanted more suspension on it so I swapped out a set of built big Bores . These run “wet” almost no oil, if I add more they will Hydro lock. I’ve played angles, that was about the best Hang up and Drive |

mikemcE - these were the internal spring shocks I originally got for my Truggy build. Boom Racing Type 1. Off the Truggy they felt supple, well damped, and smooth. Just could not get them to actuate properly on that rig though. I do love the way they look though, so I figure I'll give them a go on the Rock Bouncer and see what I think. |

Taking a quick poll - Do you guys think I should paint up these tins or leave them the raw aluminum? Like I said earlier in the thread, I had a theme in mind, kinda retro desert racer. But, I also like the raw aluminum look. I'll leave it in the hands of those following this thread.

Try some vinyl wrap. You can get small squares off of fleaBay fairly cheap. If you don’t like the color peel it off and try another.

I've never applied vinyl wrap. Do you use a heat gun or hair dryer?
