Ive bought upgrades out of the gate because the consensus was "this truck needs this". Turns out...still have those upgrades in the package. Truck didnt need it for my driving style. Sure some things are a definite upgrade (servo, metal lower links, etc) but not everyone's truck needs the same upgrades ( bigger motor, Heavy duty gears, Underdrive/Overdrive etc)

Everyone likes Pizza, but does everyone like the exact same toppings, same sauce, and same style for their pizza?

My plan is to make it into a brushless crawler, so there will definitely have to be some upgrades. Yeah there are better crawlers out there, but I just like the look of the RR.

I got the rtr spawn when they first came out ive replaced every part on it exept the shocks and skid plate and reciver box oh and the interior and the body evrything else is aftermarket or been replaced with stock axial parts like the trans case its new stock i say buy a cage and start from there on the other hand i used most of the stock parts for other rigs that dident have the same stresses on the parts
You can get a.complete cage for around $70 then add the parts you want

Thats what I am going to end up doing. I'm just waiting on a deal. Does any of the main RC sellers ever have deals or coupons?

Thanks, but I"m not looking for the Spawn. The RR kit has been discontinued. I've decided to go with the RTR RR. Just looking for a deal now.

The only way to get deals is to wait for an Ebay coupon, you can buy something off Go Nitro Hobbies ebay store, they usually email you a 10% off coupon to use on their website store for your next purchase.

Beyond that most sellers note "Discount coupons not available" or something of that nature.

The Rock Racer kit is essentially the RTR wraith. I believe it has no improvements over the RTR like the Spawn Kit does (CVD axles, Beadlocks, Alum lower links, 32 pitch Spur)

The outside is for sure. IDK about the inside. Haven't really looked into the inside that much. The Spawn looks like a station wagon to me, and the RR looks like a buggy!
