My wraith crawler Okay so over the past year ive been building and experimenting with this build https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...40a0f334d2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b9a046b0f7.jpg But i cant seem to keep a motor in it, this is a pure crawler build, what is best for motor, im down to a 35t torquemaster, and a 13t crawlmaster, also, what gearing is best? Re: My wraith crawler Did you see this thread? http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial...ing-added.html Also, have you considered brushless? |

Ive read the thread many times, hence why im down to those two motor choices, and ive had brushless in it, not a fan of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Which ESC do you have? And are you crawling or going fast or both? |

Re: My wraith crawler Ah I missed the details under your last photo the first time around. I worry there's something else wrong with your Wraith if you keep burning up motors. Did you disconnect the drivetrain component by component to see if everything spins freely? I see you have narrowed it down to a Holmes motor. I like my Crawlmaster, but they are in 1.9 rigs. I don't have experience with Torquemaster motors. On his site he states that either are fine for the Wraith. The site states: "General Trail use: 35t – 27t TorqueMaster 540* 16t – 13t CrawlMaster 540* (the 13t TorqueMaster 540 is not suitable for the Axial Wraith) Puller Pro BL 540 Stubby or Standard TrailMaster Pro BL 540 *5.6:1 pinion to spur ratio (or even lower gearing) advised to prevent overheating for brushed motors. Example: 15 or 14 tooth pinion and 84 tooth spur. Stock gearing compatible with brushless motors." |

Thanks for workin on my thread while im busy duke, yes, wraith is getting a driveline overhual, but pretty sure my gear ratio is jacked due to the amount of times ive changed things around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I know some people go to 550 cans in the Wraith, but you have to space the trans up or something like that. And most people don't feel the need for it. |
Re: My wraith crawler A 550 can requires some minor surgery to the upper link mount to provide clearance for the larger can. |
Re: My wraith crawler I've been running a 35t motor in my Wraith since new, off an old Novak Rooster Crawler. It's waterproof and the combo gives me very good crawl control and I've never burned the motor up. It's a kit Wraith with stock gearing. It's not fast at all but it crawls really nice. |

Re: My wraith crawler Update: after some work and parts ordering, ended up getting my wraith up and runnin again. Shes low and slow just like i wanted for crawling. Using a 35t holmes torquemaster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
