Ty's Scale Axial Wraith 2.2 Hello rccrawler.com! I just recently got into the RC crawler world. I purchased an Axial Wraith 2.2, and I will just update on here as I go! Changed parts so far: Bought: Servo: PowerHD 23kg servo Steering link and stabilizer: Treal 3D Printed: Front Inner Fenders: Thingiverse Rear Inner Fenders: Thingiverse Trunk: Thingiverse Servo Extension Clips: Thingiverse Hood Hinges: Thingiverse Current Pics: https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions! |
Re: Ty's Scale Axial Wraith 2.2 First of all, welcome! "thumbsup" But unfortunately, I've got nothing good to say about the Treal links. I got them for mine and I've already replaced them with Vanquish Incision links. The difference in slop between the two was night and day. :| |

Re: Ty's Scale Axial Wraith 2.2 1 Attachment(s) You will eventually have problems with any link like those in the pic, either steering tie rod or drag link, or any suspension link, that has those captured ball ends with the brass retainer rings. Treal, Integy, Boom, GPM, HR, they'll all do it in the end That goes for any shock using them also. The retainers eventually wear loose in the aluminium link & the pivot balls develop bad slop in the linkages. Any solid rod link, stainless or titanium as preference, with M4 thread on ends, most often using Traxxas Revo ends, is far superior in the long run. |

SSD & Samix do some also https://www.amainhobbies.com/search?s=Wraith+links I have several variants for the RC4x4 Stainless links too & never had an issue with any https://www.facebook.com/pg/rc4x4per...=page_internal Avoid anything that has only M3 ends to suit stock Axial rod ends, they're well known to be not as durable as the M4. |
Re: Ty's Scale Axial Wraith 2.2 i am running links that use 3m hardware and im not having any issues at all on a 12lb wraith my 1/5 th scale wraith eats 3m hardware but anything smaller its fine can you break them ya but i usaly have other issues first 4m is always better but 3m works i have a hole mess of aluminum rod ends like it was sead above the ball falls out and creates alot of slop i have fixed that on my steering links but i cant find a fix for the suspention links ive been using rc4wd rod ends laitly cause there cheap i havent snaped one yet the traxxasss rod ends seem to go pop if they hit a rock or somthing nothing like buying a vanquish kit and installing it to get 3 minutes on the first pack and then have to pack up and go home cause my rod end broke before even getting to the rocks |

Re: Ty's Scale Axial Wraith 2.2 I have a similar set of beadlock wheels little different spoke pattern. Despite what some say the treps are awesome all around tires I ran 50g in the front vented and tuned foams and they worked killer. |
