| Alternate Wraith transmission
I have a fully built Wraith and love it except for the torque lean. Many of the newer (non-axial) crawlers have not had torque lean because they're trans output shafts turn in opposite directions. I'm looking for a replacement trans I can fit to the Wraith. Maybe a VFD or TRX4. Has anyone here made a switch like this? |

they do make a wraith trans with oposing outputs but why thats not why your truck is twisting and it wont stop it from happening the new rigs have better suspention geomitry that minimizes that affect it will however lessin the twisting on flat ground under low power situations i sugest a anti sway bar its the best and easyest way to combat torque twist heres a link im pretty sure the outputs spin in opisite directions but i havent used one so im just guessing Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/223668570917 Last edited by ferp420; 12-29-2019 at 08:31 AM. |

I have a "Team DC" Anti Torque Twist transmission and it is a piece of crap. It looked good and DID get rid of the torque twist but, the construction, machining & materials were awful. which is why I'm looking at the VFD or Traxxas TRX4. There is also the Dlux Fab Cheezberger transmission.

i have no idea what kinda crawling you do but once the front end unloads your gona get torque twist no matter what direction the shafts spin the traxass has portal axles the lower gearing helps to reduce torque twist to a point there is no way to get rid of it completely the vanquish uses over under gearing so a lower gear ratio to the rear end also helps with torque twist and the gears in the axle are lower than the wraiths gears together with gearing of the trx4 and the vs410 they have better suspetion geomitry that also reduces torque twist asfar as drop in transmissions for the wraith your vary limited if your looking to spin the outputs in different directions the best way to control torque twist is with a sway bar and corrected suspention geomitry if there was a way to get ride of it completely they would be doing it in the 1:1 world most cars come with swaybars from the factory to keep the car leval and you get the added benifit of better cornering too Last edited by ferp420; 12-29-2019 at 10:40 AM. |
