| Wraith tire and wheel upgrade
So I bought a set of Pro-Line Wheels to replace the stock. They say they fit on any 12mm hex hub. Last night I could not get them on my wraith. The internet says that the Wraith has 12mm hubs and that the Pro Line wheels fit 12 hubs. Anything that I'm missing. I wiggled and pushed pretty hard.

Welcome to the site! The Wraith typically has a "step" or shoulder on the 12mm hex. Change your hex to a normal, flat hex. It's stupid the Wraith ever got those odd hubs. |

You can try buying new 12mm hub adapters for the wraith, just make sure the inner diameter is the same. Most 12mm hexes designed for metric sized axels are the same. I used to run some boom racing hubs on my Wraith before I sold it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

...or, you can just drill out the hole in the center of the wheel to accomodate the shoulder of the Wraith's hex.

^ ^ What Jato said. Personally, I wouldn't drill out a brand new set of wheels. In the short term, it might be possible to get rid of the "step" on the Wraith hexes by putting them in a vise and taking a drill bit larger than the OD of the step and carefully drilling it down until the hex surface the wheel sits against is flat. Easier if you have a drill press and even easier if you have a lathe. Hexes come in different thicknesses so check whether the thickness of the stock Wraith hex will work with your new wheels. Sometimes, depending on the wheel offset, you might need a thicker hex. 12mm hexes also come with different bores, the most common being 5mm diameter. IIRC, the Wraith axle is 5mm where the hex fits on. |
