Default New steering servo do I need a BEC

I purchased a savox sw1210sg steering servo and all I did was install it on a stock wraith rtr. The truck will run until load then beeps and shuts power off

I would say yeah, you need a BEC. That stock esc in the wraith doesn't have a great BEC.

What kind of load are you putting on your wraith?

Basic load as in trying to flex on the couch or wall nothing major

Like when I’m turning hard and using throttle same time

Yup, BEC in order. An alternative, and not a popular alternative by members of this forum, is a glitch buster.

Glitch buster

I tried one years ago because I was a noob and had no idea what a BEC was and how to add one to an RC. Didn't work out that well for me. Finally had to figure it out and add a BEC. Been a convert ever since.

Yes, you need a BEC. High powered servos pretty much always need more amps than what an ESC can supply and Savox are notoriously worse than most other brands.

Just to throw some numbers at you to increase understanding:

Most high torque servos pull around 3Amps or more
Savox servos are typically more like 5Amps
Onboard BEC in almost every ESC is 1Amp, sometimes 3 at peak
Castle BEC does 10Amps
Mamba X has 8Amp BEC built in

A glitch buster might help a little but they can't usually sustain output for long enough to help enough to power a servo. If you've got some capacitors around (and know how to use them without causing an explosion) than it might not be a bad idea to try it out and see if it helps. But really, a Castle BEC for $25-$30 is what you need.
